Located at 1, Connaught Street, close to exclusive residential areas and iconic attractions, Maroush Gardens is known for its authentic Lebanese cuisine and excellent wine. Part of the Maroush group of restaurants opened by husband and wife duo in 1981. Maroul and Houda Abouzaki are justly proud of their roots and this is reflected in their food and service: ‘sharing, generosity and hospitality are the hallmarks of Lebanese culture. Food, is a celebration of life: Endless varieties and magical tastes…it is healthy and naturally prepared.’
When you enter the restaurant, note the fish pond and magnificent skylight which lend an outdoor air to this smart restaurant. Begin your culinary journey with a glass of Château Ksara and order some hot and cold mezza to whet your appetite. Kay and Co recommends the flavourful Lisanat (cooked lamb's tongues) and Maqaneq (homemade mini sausages flambéed with butter).
The succulent Roast Chicken or Shawarma Chicken are aromatic main course options and if you are fond of grilled meat, try the excellent Shish Taouk. Seafood lovers will relish the Sayadieh (seasoned fresh cod) while the tasty Okra stew is an ideal choice for Vegetarians.
Remember to leave room for at least one of Maroush Garden’s rich desserts. For the uber sweet toothed try the Baklava (pastries filled with nuts) or the luscious Ossmallieh (Baked Vermicilli with Rosewater Syrup). Finish your meal with a cup of freshly brewed Lebanese coffee.
The restaurant also offers fixed-price menus as well as a selection of delicious baked goods. During lunchtime, patrons who are pressed for time can order the appetising Business Lunch platter.
