Any enthusiastic clothes maker and button collector who sets foot inside ‘The Button Queen’ can clearly see how the shop is worthy of its title. Boasting an eye-popping selection of buttons from ancient designs, retro, to modern, customers will find everything they could possibly need to satisfy their button-related needs. The shop is conveniently located in Marylebone Lane, in amongst other trendy shops and specialist boutiques.
The Button Queen has served London for more than 30 years, founded by antique dealer, Toni Frith. Toni’s son, Martyn, and his wife, Isabel, now run the beloved shop, which has enjoyed many successful years at Bermondsey and Red Lion markets, Marlborough Court, St. Christopher’s Place and finally its current home in Marylebone.
Filled from pillar to post with buttons in every conceivable range of styles, dressmakers and upholsterers will find everything they need, from horn buttons and toggles, plastic tailors buttons, pearl buttons, leather buttons and buckles, modern fashion, official Diamond Jubilee buttons, wooden buttons, dinner jacket buttons, and much, much more.
If you’re into sewing or crafting and you’re struggling to find that specific type of button, you’re sure to find it at The Button Queen.
Open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5.30pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. Closest tube station is Bond Street.
