An internationally renowned recital venue, Wigmore Hall specialises in chamber and instrumental music, early music and song.
Now in its 116th year, Wigmore Hall is more active than ever, offering live music of outstanding quality, along with an inspiring range of activities in the wider community. With an infectious sense of adventure, the venue continues to capture the public’s imagination and broaden its audiences’ horizons.
Wigmore Hall focuses on ‘supreme musical works’ and its repertoire extends from the Renaissance to contemporary jazz, including commissions from today’s most exciting composers.
Bringing this music to life are the world’s most sought-after soloists and chamber musicians – although Wigmore Hall also provides a platform for exceptional young artists, too, many making their professional London debuts here.
Discreetly situated in Wigmore Street, the Hall is renowned for its intimacy, acoustics and its Arts & Crafts interior. It has a capacity of 552 seats, although it draws on audiences from much further afield through its enterprising use of digital media and its ambitious learning and outreach programmes. These go beyond concert audiences to embrace schools, nurseries, hospitals, community centres and care homes.
Each year Wigmore Hall expects to present 450 concerts, sell 200,000 tickets and stage 46 learning and outreach events.
