Property investment in student hotspots is up 17% this year. Rents are up 2.7%. This is according to recent figures featured in the Daily Telegraph. Margins might be slimmer in the capital than in other areas, but think long-term capital value for luxury student accommodation in London.
Location is key and central Marylebone gives easy access to a number of institutions who attract students from all over the world. Some mature students have bigger budgets and usually want a decent standard of living, too. When considering luxury students lets, look for two things: location and good transport links.

St Mary’s Campus in Paddington is a medical teaching and research campus for Imperial College, London. 2. Maida Avenue, London W2
The London College of Osteopathic Medicine can be found in Boston Place, Marylebone, close to the Tube station. It offers distance learning followed by intensive courses at its base.

Regent’s University is a private, non-profit enterprise. It’s only the second institution to be granted the status of a private university in the UK. Most of its 3,500 full time students come from overseas. Its alumni include comedian Ruby Wax. The Royal College of Obstetricians and gynaecologists has its headquarters in Sussex Place, Regent’s Park. It was founded in 1929 and granted its royal charter in 1947.
